Description

This was my first attempt imaging the Helix Nebula. I have wanted to do it for years but always picked other targets. I knew it was going to be low in the south, but I was surprised how low it was last night. I was at 20 degrees about the horizon, at best, during imaging. Auto guiding was sketchy and details were soft on the subframes. Being further south than 41 degrees north latitude would probably be a bit better. Anyway, here it is, as is. It is a very interesting object.
